yes shaman is stupid but it also costs 3 notches and isn't really broken until it's complimented with soul gain charms and void spells

yes quickslash is broken but it's also 3 notches and a lategame deeply nested secret pickup

Well the other problem is just how bad some charms are

A lot of charms you wouldn't want to use even if they were 0 notches

Like it sucks pretty bad to find a new item and then find out it's so bad that using it is a debuff

others are definitely also very bad in comparison to most

but i think more of them have a convincing use case in a vacuum than not

joni's disabling healing definitely makes it really really bad and so does being 4 notches but i think it does have a use case

I'd like to share another stupid moment I had in a game

When i got to the end of my first neutral run in undertale, asgore told me to make sure I had tied up any unfinished business before fighting him

My metroidvania brain kicked in and I ended up wasting a full hour backtracking through the whole game for nothing

at least in this session although i made no progress towards either of my current main quests, i at least found a lot more modules and increased my max hp by 1
