I quit out twice during earlier parts. Once when a platform crumbled after I had gotten hit during the Far Fields arena escape sequence (1 mask, right above the lava in hitstun).

Another time in the Slab after I had beaten First Sinner. I was weakened, fell into that one section with Sands of Karak rocks, and one of the two Snitchflies actually "killed" me. For some reason, I was allowed to pause mid-attack. It was his two-mask attack, and I had already reached 0 masks.

But all in all, I didn't really feel good about quitting out in either of those situations, considering the fact that both were still my own mistakes. I am very against quitting out for my own nature (nothing against other people doing it, it's just a pride thing). At no point will I quit out during a boss fight. If I die, I fail.

Well, your overall choice of attacks changes throughout the game as you get more Spirits. You can choose from ranged, close-quarters, mixed, and you even have two different loadouts to choose from if you want to switch up mid-fight or exploration.

Some spirits even have movement utility to pull off cool skips. The Relic system is basically like Charms from Hollow Knight. You find slots throughout the map and Relics to equip, but the mechanics of the Relics are simple and easier to understand than HK.

There aren't many bosses (around 9, if I recall correctly), and once you beat the game, you unlock a boss rush mode (alongside other things that would be better found that explained).
