I think people need to have a more broad view in regards to balance. Yes, I would say that the reaper crest is the worst one, but it has it's use case in being a very good crutch. Almost every playthrough people use the reaper crest at the beginning. It comes down to whether or not you would consider a much more early game catered crest "balanced" or not.

Yea at the very end of the game where you will have nothing to use it on. Not only that but to refill it you have to actually travel to the flea caravan instead of it being like the plasmium heart which you bring with yourself, automatically refilling plasmium wherever you are on a bench.

i love the brew, but I don't use it specifically on wanderer and beast, due to the greatly diminished attack speed, according to the wiki. that's why cogflies or whatever will provide more dmg, while you whack away with flintslate. but @lusty grove told me it's used a lot on beast, so I'll give it a try

you can move quickly without silkspeed anklets. they are not an essential except for speedrunning, and even then you can move nearly as quickly with certain tech (not hard to learn). Brooch isn't required to be on all the time, you ONLY need it while you're specifically farming Rosaries. Compass can be taken off when backtracking in areas. None of them are tools you need to have on 100% of the time, and the yellow tools are the LEAST impactful tool color by a long shot, so having less slots available isn't even impactful.
