The only reason Hornet stops trying to kill The Knight is because she realizes she physically can't. In her first encounter, she pretends to be weak to manipulate them, and then she puts them in a position where she knew they'd get trapped by rubble. This allows her to swoop in to "rescue" them, hugging them strongly for the first time, showing that Hornet uses physical stimulation as part of her disgusting psychological abuse in order to get what she wants.
