If you go to your save file, you can reset it to just before getting Cursed. Then, grind as many needle upgrades, mask upgrades, and spool fragment upgrades as you can, then go get Cursed again

its just that the sudden/no fanfare death is what got me, like on its whole i didnt really "care" about him but i have this weakness (and this extends in movies/shows/wtv) when death is portrayed with no fanfare.

Activation conditions are different. It heals. It does much more damage. It requires silk. It has unique interactions with different tools. The ONLY similarity is that it has some kind of tendril smacking things around you, other than that they are VERY different.

Less good isn't the same as bad. Also, peak Witch output is equivalent to high levels of other crest gameplay, the difference is minimal.
