you have a battlestaff. theres a healing side and fighting one. you heal by attacking eneies with the healing side, but it dosent deal any damage (for now). see, with skill points you get by progressing though the game and killing enemies, you can get different upgrades and abilities with the skill tree, like you can get one where you can parry with the fighting side to heal, or how you can deal some dmg with the healing side, or hell even get a flail mace on your battlestaff. theres also memories, kinda like tools but more like status effects. like how taking damage releases a small healing cloud or when you attack enemies you have a chance to make their attacks deal less damage. thats it

Ohh, I like these last part concepts. About the two sides thing, it can be very cool managing both — idk if this is the direction you're aiming to, but Nioh has like ninja mode and samurai mode, and you can not only swap between them with a button, but just switching by itself can also do something really useful like a special, counter (so you're encouraged to keep switching mid fight/exploration to maximize both of their utility). Maybe try that, if haven't already?

I'm confused about something.
If you don't use the first simple key you can buy on the western door at the ruins, you can't get to the wall climb skill and can't progress, right? You can get to Bellhart from the other side (Greymoor) but there will be a door at the east side of Shellwood which you can't pass.
So what happens if you use the key on the other locked door that's accessible at this stage in the game? In the Deep Docks I think.
