Pollip Pouch is the best Blue Tool in the game.
Not even that, it's the best Tool in the entire game. You can get it so early on into act 1 which makes otherwise impossible bosses like Sister Splinter and Widow possible. better. You are guaranteed a hefty amount of damage when you use Red Tools already, because of Tools like the Cog Flies and the Cogwork Wheel, but adding Pollip Pouch to this makes those Red Tools even more powerful and OP.
I need to go into detail about the Cog Flies actually. The Cog Flies alone you are guaranteed 50 damage when you use them.

They also aim for you meaning that you don't even have to think about damage when you use them, you just get it for free. But when you add Pollip Pouch? You get EXTRA DAMAGE, all for free, and the damage isn't even limited to when you get a hit with the Cog Flies only because you get MORE DAMAGE from the poison. And so if you have all of your Cog Flies out at once, it's super powerful and can make bosses die in much less time than without it.
I thought that Team Cherry was done making broken charms and tools. I mean, they had already made Sharp Shadow which is free damage just for doing the simplest mechanic in the game: DASHING! But Pollip Pouch does even more free damage and you don't even have to move! It's the best tool in the game and adds to the best damage dealer in the whole game too!

I get you, but this really just proves my point. These are the same species as agile pilgrims, which are explicitely said to have a soft shell. Logically this would lead them to craft attachments to make up for said lack of protection.

There is organical armor, but this isn't the case here. Another point to consider is that these shells are all of the same material as those that some of the Underworkers carry. The Underworkers also wear them for protection, furthermore showing how they have to wear protection because they don't inherently have it.
