Grinding isn't a boss, reaper is a great crutch for new player due to the ease of use of the pogo, witch is just really impractical in general and the only boss without a ground to my knowledge is nyleth, and even then you can just kill her with spells while using shaman cause she isn't that hard.

I like Hunter as well but I used Reaper for the entirety of my first playthrough cause I liked the safety of it

Reaper has ass damage but that doesn't mean it doesn't serve a purpose

I ditched it when I got some new crests but I'd still say Beast and maybe Witch have a higher skill ceeling than Hunter

beat all 3 old hearts, got all masks, all needle upgrades at the 94th hour
beat all bosses except shakra and garmond&zaza act 2
beat all bosses in act 3 except zango green prince and lost lace

Only time I used them was for third phase karmelita because I was done with her, for lost garmond because I hate that fight and for second sentinel because I fought her at a point where I was done with act 2, I wanted to get 100% (or what I though was 100%) and "finish" the game, I also used some in other fights when they were close to ending.

But I regretted skipping karmelita phase 3 and doing second sentinel with tools because it felt like cheating and that I missed on the fight, so I then did a second replay without using red tools and it was much more fun
