Silksong is a continuation of the "true" ending, making that true ending the one canon to the events of Silksong specifically. But for the story of HK, any of the endings are outcomes, and they lead to different stories that we just don't know. I think all of you are mixing up the "True" route/ending with "canon." Hollow Knight is a fictional story where many things can happen, and if it happened, it's canon. What would be non-canon is things that are made up.

Alright. Anyway, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding the removal of the helmet, but in my version (1.09 updated a week or so ago) it is still there. I've been at the location several times already and the helmet is still there. Before I remember it being far less blurry and in the background, but it is definitely still there. It does kinda fade in and out of sight though.

Overdose is pretty fair though. It severly prevents you from healing fast enough to outlive a boss if you get hit and is mostly just useful for exploring and platforming. Voltnest is terrible without it in my opinion, since you barely have the chance to ever heal.
