i wouldn't call a character lost in her way because of parental ignorance, lack of self-purpose and uneducated ethics a bland character. Considering how the game really push into the narration that Hornet once was ignorant grew to be a more caring person about Pharloom as the game progress, suggesting that so too will Lace become a better person out of it

we get to see her issues, then her stubborness and then her truest thoughts of self the closer we get to the end of the game. I personally resonate with her throughout the dialogues of the game

I say thats a pretty good motive for a villain unlike lace
