Despite the balance in hk being very whack, I feel the imbalance more with ss amulets because they all have to take the same amount of imaginary notches

i would say its the opposite, hk charms only had like 8 viable ones in godhome play, it was always unb strength shaman stone and quickslash which used up like 9 notches and left you with 2 notches for your liking.

on the contrary there are lot more viable loadouts and tools in ss, almost everyone uses different tools

there are few "meta" tools in ss, apart from volt filament and sawtooth but that's really it

one of the bigggg things that makes hk low gear interesting is that it forces you to approach the game and dps differently, because your nail does a lot less. you’re forced to go for shriek if you’re doing ab and use narts a lot more, and constantly go for dives in like onws. you will play the fights the same in silksong because your damage distribution does not change between full gear and old nail
