Nah, you can farm that back up somewhat easily. Besides, they key allows you to get to the Wanderers Crest early (you can get it before even fighting Bell Beast) which is a fan favorite for most newer players. Also, if you go to the door without going, hop down into the little pond and smack the right wall for a mask shard. With later movement abilities it also gets you more stuff in the Wormways

Then with sister of the void, the vessels/siblings specifically seem to have more consciousness and control.
