which means bilewater is mostly harmless or nonthreatening

in which the area can afford having less benches because you are not severely threatened by anything in the area
and it WILL have less benches because that increases tension; you feel unsafe and in the middle of nowhere, exactly the type of atmosphere bilewater tries to create, and the lack of the map makes you feel LOST and directionless, as if youre deep in a hostile area (despite it not threatening you)

the traps again reward perception and consciousness in bilewater, if youre dumb and walk into everything blindly then youd get hit for sure but if you actually pay attention to the area (aka not bullshit it) then its unlikely youd get hit
you can run past the stilkin 80% of the time and they only spawn in 5 rooms throughout the ENTIRE area (2 of those rooms you will never revisit)
the area teaches you from the very beginning that enemies explode, its pretty unlikely that youd actualy get hit by them if you pay attention and arent a bit stupid
