There are a few examples of definitive platformers that dont revolve around platforming solely. Megaman is a big one. Braid is definetly a platformer but the platforming is trivial, being entirely puzzle centric. Same with fez. My all time favorite platformers arent platformer centric. I cant even imagine what youd classify megaman as if it wasnt a platformer
