Nah Silksong lore is so much more in depth it feels like. It's built into the world so much more. Look at the Underworks for example, with Loam working himself endlessly for the hope of one day being brought to the Citadel above. In that same room you can run on a conveyer belt for what seems like forever for one measly rosary. And in the Underworks, all of the benches cost 15 rosaries and are temporary, which means they spend all their money just to sleep at night. Anything leftover they spend on the confession machine, which tells them to work without rest or sustenance for one full cycle to repent for a great sin regardless of what they say to it.

You have Whiteward, with its creepy atmosphere. You see and slowly piece together firsthand that nobody dies at the Citadel - they must continue to work or sing to keep the gears turning and Grand Mother Silk asleep. Silk is inserted into the shells of bugs forcefully to prolong their lifespan, and those who refuse to revive are incinerated.

You simply can't adapt to new crests beyond like the 3rd one you obtain. The difficulty at that point is to where you can't really try to learn a whole new moveset without getting obliterated over and over and it being super frustrating

you can cheese it by reviving your save using a save file editor or just by manually making backups of your savefile. a LOT of things are unpredictable in this game anyway and ive died way too many times to that, but you dont have to play by the rules if you feel like the games unfair sometimes

What about the other hand? A boss being too niche? A boss requiring certain crest? Segments that are made far too easy with certain crest? Crest imbalance? People can choose what crest they would stick to or experiment, the choices are presented, you're the one making the decisions

Top 3 crests in game:
Beast - High skill ceiling bcs you are basically just melee with only 1 blue and 2 red charms BUT ungodly dps if you master.
Witch - Similar to beast crest, though less dps however far more consistent if less skilled. While high crest count is allowed for optimal performance only a few crests are actually effective making build variance low.
Wanderer - A more rounded version of the previous two with a normal heal, and high speed. Not the highest dps but is the most consistent and constant as it comes from swinging your needle, no dps needed. Moderate amount of charm slots allows mediocre loadout variety, which combined with the all-rounder playstyle makes this crest highly versitile.
