That’s mostly just something you gotta work on. Generally it’s better to just look at her, see her stance, then position herself so whatever she’s doing, she’s going to just barely miss you or end up stalling in easy reach. Lace fights are more about tracking Lace visually than anything else

How would you guys fix reaper crest to make it feel more useful? I feel like the main issue I have with it is that everything it does can be achieved better with some other crest.

Need silk? Wanderer’s crest insane dps probably gets the same silk as binding reaper. Want down pogo? Three other crests have it. Need more reach? Long claw or shaman’s handles most of it. Want to play more defensively with its wacky hitboxes? Beast hitboxes are hilariously fucked up. Want a balanced loadout? Hunter is right there

early game feels harder than it actually is because there's not enough tutorial areas to learn all the new things (starting hunter crest diagonal slash, dash, new needle hit box, timings, silk skills, tools, etc.). The game needs a better way to get you comfortable with it. That's why act 2 feels easier than act 1. By act 2 you are more comfortable and only worrying about learning the boss instead of the boss plus 4+ new things all at once and feeling overwhelmed

Reaper mains do get defensive when people razz the crest. But it’s a defensive crest where you play I’m not touching you with everything and its secondary effect sucks majorly, but a lot of reaper mains refuse to learn anything more technical, so they just leave that dps/movement option on the table

I would practice act 1 more I honestly think for speedrun you should be clearing act 1 within 90 minutes because almost all the choke points in the run are in act 2 you can watch an any% speedrun that would be done with act 1 in like 30 minutes to see the optimal route and even some useful easy pogo skips to skip fights like sister splinter
