My only complaint from a design perspective is that Hunter is Hornet's "intended" move set and not only does it not have an effect until after Widow, its effect is also based entirely around taking no damage, making it arguably the hardest crest to benefit from. I would've expected the starter crest to be more well-rounded given that it is the crest all players have to play around for some time.

architect needs you to be rich asf, and wanderer needs you to have good positioning. Both are rough for new players. Once you’re skilled enough, the requirements to make each crest “good” are pretty easy to achieve on all three. You don’t have to have perfect uptime on Hunter crest, it fills back up pretty quickly. As long as you have it up most of the time you’ll be alright

Galaxy braining an AU now. The Traitor Lord was Hornet’s lover around the time the Infection just started (and she was being educated by the White Lady after finishing her training with Vespa). She had a daughter with him - something equivalent to a late teen/college pregnancy - and that daughter was brought up in the Pale King’s court as his grandchild. The White Lady also considered this child her grandchild, as she said herself that she had affection for Hornet.

Anyways, the child grew up and met Ze’mer when she came to Hallownest to serve in the Pale Court as a knight, and they became lovers - but that only made tensions grow between both sides of her family; the Pale King’s side (where Ze’mer’s loyalties laid) and the Mantis Lords’ side.

Things got to a breaking point when the Traitor Lord embraced the Infection - but a young Hornet did not have a hardened heart then and could not slay him.

The three Mantis Lords took this as their final straw to hunt down the Traitor’s Child, who fled to the Queens’ Garden to hide with the White Lady - and some of the mantises loyal to her went and defected, setting up camp there - and eventually succumbing to the Infection.

Then the Traitor’s Child got killed by her own father and the mantises who swore loyalty to her, now all infected. Dryya, charged by the Queen to protect her granddaughter, died in the conflict. Ze’mer managed to recover her body before it became Infected and put her to rest in the Gardens. The end.
