The thing is that it's more engaging if you use a faster crest. Using reaper prolongs the fight, yes, but I'd rather have the fight end quick but be filled with moment-to-moment engaging action than have it last a lot longer because I'm hitting them a lot slower, y'know. Yes, reaper probably technically takes "more mastery" because you have to do it for a longer time, but there comes a point where "it takes more mastery" doesn't outweigh the "it's more fun this way", if that makes sense.

the thing is that you can't ignore the gauntlet though; each time you want to retry him you have to fight Stilkins that could rival even the Castle Trolls and run for like 1-2 minutes.

I can get why you'd like him, but he just isn't that complex himself imo, and I'd rather a boss be hard due to their moveset than from a bunch of gimmicks & gauntlets.
