Hot take: I think Silksong's Rosary economy is better than Hollow Knight's Geo economy, and the scarcity is part of it. There's a level of consideration for what you're going to be spending your Rosaries on in shops, or planning ahead and budgeting your Rosaries so you have enough when you come across a bench, Bellway, or Ventrica.
On top of that, there's actual incentive for you to use the things you buy. Tools, crafting materials, etc. It adds to the importance of the decision being made.
Hollow Knight had an issue where Geo was is such abundance you would buy out shops so quickly you never return them after a couple times, and in most cases you're not even getting much use or reward out of what you buy. There are some things but they are few, except prices feel more like a formality because again, you can just buy out shops very quickly most of the time.
