Okay this is just a fan wish, but what if Godhome was in Silksong because it’s a universal thing (that is, if it’s okay after the Shade Lord manifested itself), and Hornet can fight HK
Bosses or even the Knight in it (though alterations would have to be made to adapt to her different moveset).
That sounds like dlc though.

My point is that pure covalent bonds only exist between atoms of the same element, such as any halogene gas (fluorine, bromide etc).

We also have polar covalent bonds, where one atom wins the tug of war, but not hard enough to take the electron all for itself. This happens in water and ammonia, for example.

The latter is hard to differentiate from ionic bonds, because there is no clear indication of where an atom takes the electron and it's holding the other by columbic attraction, or if they're still together because of "sharing electrons". What I mean is that you can never really tell if it's a polar covalent or ionic bond because they're practically the same if you just look at the electronegativity values.

But yes, we are taught that they are different concepts because learning them separately helps forming different ideas of what they are when they occur (albeit that the explanation is a bit faulty)

Yeah but that also kinda depends on HOW polar the bond is. If the bond is extremely polar like 1.6 difference (1.7 being ionic) then yeah sure.

But a bond that has a 1.1 difference is gonna operate differently than an ionic bond. For example, a polar covalent bond isn’t going to ionise in water. A polar covalent bond will form molecules that are non conductive and brittle. They operate differently so I think they should be treated as separate concepts, even if the basic idea behind how they form that bond is the same yk.
