Well, the short story I made that I mentioned is like this deep sea cult that worships a rotting corpse and sacrifices to it, you never can see the corpse or barely anything, but you feel it, smell it, taste it, etc. and you are full of dread that is never ending as if your body is crushing itself very slowly, but you stay alive until sacrificed.
Very brief explanation, but I think that describes it well enough.
