mining only takes up a large amount of time in the early game, and even then it's got quite a lot of variety to it, the hardmode ore mining literally takes like 10 minutes, just smash some altars, get a spelunker potion and mine away, make a new pickaxe every here and there, mining for clorophyte really isnt that bad either, especially since you can do it while looking for plantera bulbs
