I would be fine with this so long as it didn't take precedence over the gameplay or overall story. A subplot that happens through dialogue exchanges, before or after boss battles with Lace and maybe the occasional animated cutscene. A thing that develops between the 2 over the course of the game's events. It could be an interesting arc between Hornet and Lace if handled well.

Sounds absurd to even entertain the idea since it started as a joke but it's at least interesting to think about, although very unlikely.
