Pathologic 2 is again the only game that avoid this in that everday something fucks you over like the food prices over inflating, the water pipes starts failing, the government starts handing out food vouchers based on your hospital performance, the regions of the town either gets looter infested (fighting IS NOT recommended) or infected to shit while youre also trying to keep your patients all over the map alive

in most survival games, late game survival is a non issue, in Patho 2 i had to fucking stab a lone soldier near the last few days of the game so i could take his army rations, didnt even bother taking his rifle cuz id rather have slots for medicine

yeah i played Call of Pripyat years ago then only started Shadow of Chernobyl recently

so i had to adjust to a lot of QOL CoP added

it feels nice though, im slowly starting to get accustomed to horror-ish games

but right now my line is "i need to be able to defend myself" so games where its mostly chase and hide are still too much for me

but its cool because back then 10 years ago, i refuse to play any games with horror elements on them, like Half Life 1 gave me this fear (and i blame a specific Counter Strike map for doing this ghost easter egg) that devs add a ghost that follows you throughout the chapters if you take too long to finish them lmao
