Do they have that power? At this point, the only thing they could do to "quell fans" would be to put out a release date. Bear in mind that I can count the number of TC members on one hand. If they put out a release date for several months down the line, a single member getting sick for a week could delay the game enough for them to miss it. Between HK, its DLCs, and the various ports, the average time between release date announcement and release has been 8 days, and not for no reason.
