Good choices. Recluse is pretty decent, though she certainly has a learning curve. Ironeye is probably the best character in the game, hands down.

I have to ask this question since i see people online NOT doing this but, are you filling your weapon slots with weapons? You really should, there’s no equip load and any weapon on you has a passive buff active except ones with hand symbols which you have to hold

If you look at your map, each location may have an elemental symbol on it that indicates the kinds of drops you could find

As a mage you could check magic/frost spots out and you can also try to learn how to clear Rises as their drops are almost always oriented towards magic/fp
