the dreamers exist for a narrative reason the point is that tk is destroying the remnants of the kingdom's past to let something new happen, in etv you just... don't have to do that, it's bad writing. Furthermore, thk is repeatedly represented as the living personification of hallownest's attempt at perpetuation, so being able to just not kill it is even worse. It just sucks, it's bad, it's irredeemable, the only 'pros' amount to basically jingling keys in your face while a worse version of dream no more happens
