if you're someone who does not like story and character-heavy games do not play them. the rpg/dungeon crawling gameplay is good if you like turn-based rpgs, but the vast majority of the games are story and dialogue

i disagree but to each their own. i do think they expounded on it better in 4 and 5, i wish 3r had done a little more to the combat than just overhauling it visually

as i've gotten up into my 20s especially turn-based rpgs have grown on me. i was a big final fantasy fan since i was a little kid so i always liked them to some extent but they just generally appeal way more to me now than they used to
