Yes because Thanos is an incredibly rational individual

He even says something along the lines of how before he intervened Gamora’s planet was similar to a third world country and that HE made it a paradise through his actions. Thanos uses this as a motivator behind offering the same fate to the remainder of the universe

But as Tammo said his motivation is not all that important and his plan was never meant to come across as “good” or “logical”
