let’s crunch the numbers properly. Team Cherry said there’s over 165 enemies, let’s assume there’s around 204 enemies. Now, you know it’s gonna take at least 5 minutes each to deal with every single one, considering learning their patterns, dying to them a few times, and then finally feeling like you “get it.” That puts us at just under 18 hours.
there’s the benches. Hollow Knight had 41 benches, but Silksong’s map is more vertical. We can’t just sit on them and save our game, though. No, you’ve got to use each bench as a place to check the map, figure out where you’ve been, maybe even rearrange crests, and you know you’ll waste at least 9 minutes per bench. That’s another 487 minutes, or roughly 8.13 hours.

there are are at least 36 major fights. We’re not breezing through these either. I’m guessing 18 minutes per boss at least, considering the retries, the “one more try” moments, and the mental breaks in between. That’s 648 minutes, or just over 10.5 hours.

And then there’s exploration. You know you’re going to be lost half the time. They’ve upped the verticality and made the world more maze-like. So another ez 12 hours

More lore as well.

• Enemies: 17.85 hours
• Benches: 8.13 hours
• Bosses: 10.8 hours
• Exploration: 12 hours
• Lore: 4.5 hours

That’s 53.28 hours right there. Factor in the time spent messing around with crests, the resets, and of course the hours lost to just vibing to the atmosphere. I’d say at least 70 hours minimum. And that’s without any DLC or new game plus modes. Excluding any potential silkposts!

They’re a small company with connections to bigger companies, I just have seen it happen with Risk of Rain and other smaller teams, they start getting involved with bigger companies and start having eyes for more money.
