but in this case it would be more like going for 8 mask on base and 16 masks by end game

if each enemy attacks you on 2 mask average you have 4 hits before you go down unless you take some "chip" 1 mask damage, and this kinda leaves more leeway in the healing system as its not as tight in terms of mask healing

Other games tends to use 100HP for example as a baseline so its easier to tweak stuff like, this attack causes 32 damage (4 hits before you die from full health) or this one deals 24 damage (6 hits before you die from full health) etc.
but ofc you lose out on readability, its a lot more guessing of, "oh this might kill me in 3, or 4 hits? i dont know, better keep it safe"

on the flipside, HK's Health system is a lot more readable, i take 1 mask from this attack, it 2 masks from that attack. Simple
but SS' healing system brings out some issues with them tweaking how much or how fast your healing is.

So by expanding Silksong's HP to be around 8 mask base instead of 5 masks, they'd have more leeway customizing damage and healing around it
