we're still allowed to talk about other games here right? I wanna vent just a little bit. Usually keep reserved from this kind of discussion in a discord chat but it's been bothering me since TGA. Can I go ahead?

And for the record I loved a lot of what I saw at TGA. I think it's the best showing we've ever gotten at this event so negativity won't be towards anything shown at the event itself. I more wanna talk about the attitude people have in the gaming sphere nowadays and try and address it as politely as I can, but again I am frustrated and annoyed.

Intergalactic, and I have no doubt I'll get some clashing opinions here, received a lot of "backlash" for lack of a better term. It's made by Naughty Dog, and a lot of people are preemptively shitting all over this game for it's trailer and making what I firmly believe are shallow and pathetic "criticisms" simply because they disliked TLOU2. They're for some reason comparing it to Concord, calling the protagonist ugly, and calling it "woke" simply because the protagonist is bald.

I liked a lot of what I saw, and was shocked when I heard most people were not only not sharing the same sentiment, but actively hating and dislike bombing what I thought was a harmless and interesting trailer. I like the Cowboy Bebop and Akira influence, I like the retro futurism aesthetic, I like the waveform visualizer sword paired with the protag's apparent interests in music and CDs. It's a cool and interesting design choice that captured my attention and made me more interested in seeing more of the game in the future.

That's essentially my thoughts. I could get into the response to Ciri in the Witcher 4, but that's a much smaller issue I don't feel needs to be addressed as much as people's overwhelmingly negative, and imo unwarranted response to Intergalactic.

It is cool to introduce us to the setting first but its also equally important to introduce us to the gameplay

But Naughty Dog's reputation gives it enough credibility in my eyes that the cg trailer sells me on the concept at least. There are rumours it will play similar to a game like Bloodborne because apparently that was Druckman's original idea for the gameplay of TLOU2, but he couldn't make it work in that world.
