really the only thing in totk that struck me as a bit odd from a sequel perspective is the map being (mostly) the same but even then there's a lot of smaller changes and the general topography being the same wasn't really hurtful (and led to some interesting moments where you go check up on things you remembered from botw)

The botw champion abilities, runes and stuff were catered towards making combat interesting and dynamic, whereas the abilities available in TOTK are catered moreso towards just building and messing around (which isn't an inherent problem, but combat is neglected as a result.) a particular example would be how janky it feels to have to fuse each individual arrow during combat
