No ending stops Hornet from being captured, and the ability to break seals with bugs from Pharloom makes Hornet being locked in the Black Egg not an issue. Dreamers also don’t die when sealed, we simply didn’t have the means to remove them without killing them.

What is the purpose of prequels?
the answer: mainly to provide better insight into past events in a story
Now, hollow knight does have a lot of important past events... in hallownest
silksong is not set in hallownest, therefore, it being a prequel would not accomplish anything that a flashback in a sequel wouldn't
and it seems like the only reason for silksong to be a prequel, is to just get around sealed siblings
which, if I were TC, I would gladly take new story opportunities and character development over stretching the canon a bit

stringing up rosaries is fine as an extra security (it's basically a banking system) but it's not an alternative for currency recovery

the only reason the idea of not recovering rosaries exists in the first place is that not being implemented in the 2019 demo which is definitely not indicative of how it'll work in the final product

It's been over a year since the last actual concrete piece of news from TC
If they were to post something like "hey guys we're still working on the game here are some screenshots blah blah bla" you get the idea" without any sort of hint of a release date, sure some people would be happy but others would find it pointless.
The people who complain about no news would get pissed that it's not a release date
the people who are fine with the wait, like the ones in this server would find it pointless, confirming something we already know and showing off new screenshots would just be spoiling something we could experience for ourselves
