it’s safer for it to be a kitten because an adopted adult cat is more likely to be legitimately aggressive towards your first cat and vice versa. litter training for kittens really isnt that hard at all as long as it’s not like, a newborn kitten obv, it works pretty much the same as it does for an adult cat, you just show em the litterbox a few times and theyll figure out the rest. the only extra step is making sure you get them fixed when theyre old enough so they dont spray, you do NOT want that
