but in reality despite the fact a lot of players plays it by conquering and painting the map to their own colors, its often mostly played as like a roleplaying / visual novel at times

sometimes i just wanna stay as a small count while trying to quell infighting among my vassals while my liege does nothing over the fact that his vassals/my neighbors are busy killing each other 🥴

also ngl it thought me a lot about how medieval hierarchies worked and a lot about geography

like how back then the kingdoms werent that centralized, "kingdoms" were more or less just a bunch of families owning land agreeing with a higher power but usually theyre autonomous and indepedent

like yeah you pay taxes to the emperor but the emperor also has zero say if this count wants to fucking beat the shit out of this other count for land as long as they keep their obligations to them of paying taxes

like i thought the Holy Roman Emperor was one major entity, turns out it was more or less a "soft alliance" of several realms
