I'd heard about Hollow Knight a few times on YouTube and such a while before I bought it. I would see clips on like random top 10 lists and such and thought it just looked okay but it didn't really interest me. I forget what exactly made me bite the bullet and buy the game but it became one of my favorite games ever and I didn't have very high expectations. It kinda sold me on metroidvanias.

I guess it got my foot into the platformer genre as well because after completing PoP I went and got Celeste which is fucking fantastic as well.

He like does the diagonal dash downward towards you then dashes left or right and he leaves a trail of flames if I remember right
