Do you ever have those moments in game (especially semi open world / non linear games) where you spend most of your time clawing your way up the dungeon or area wtv. Then you reach the top/bottom to finally fight the boss and realize you are way under leveled for them, so you leave to other areas for now

Then it kinda feels anticlimatic, like phoning the villain and saying "Hey uhh, yeah im not gonna fight you yet, ill be back for you next time. Oh and uhh sorry about your henchmen, i kinda killed like several dozens of them. Bye"

Like designwise, if you could push through the regular mobs for that area, you the devs should more or less know that you can take on boss fight

actually the lamp has a small pet peeve of mine
i personally think progression gating stuff shouldnt be purchasable given that you can also lose progress by dying in Hollow Knight

one thing that can be an interesting implementation is 1. lower the price 2. allow you to get a lamp from exploration

so for 2. youd have it as a regular ability gate, but for point 1, you kinda soft reward players who plays well/doesnt die often to collect enough money that they can somewhat "skip" the need to find it in the world
