then the last squad was the ranger/scouts meant to be a support crossbow division and...

and apparently the reason for this is that inside taverns, dwarves would drink and dance, spilling their drinks all over the floor
the thing is, back then, the liquids were counted by units, so dwarves drops 1 unit of alcohol on the floor

so the cats going around taverns would get their feet wet with 1 unit of alcohol, and later they would lick themselves clean, consuming 1 unit of alcohol
because cats are small, that means 1 unit of alcohol is FUCKING lethal because their body cant take it, they would die

so its less of a bug and more of an oversight, and fix was to afaik introduce several layers of liquid units instead of it starting at 1 onwards
