Sure, but it’d be hard to deny that tf2 has very explicit humor to its tone. It’s canon stairs were invented to replace people rocket jumping between floors. Even with the more serious stuff, humor and silliness is what the creators consistently try to communicate, and so to recognize it is appreciation and recognition of that.

And recognizing the purposeful silliness of a work doesn’t invalidate the non-silly aspects of it, because honestly, life itself is like that. It has so many serious, convoluted, and even ugly aspects to it, but with all the absurd, humorous, and silly aspects to it, you can still call life silly, perhaps even because the humor of it contrasts to the serious of it. When one calls something silly, it does not necessarily mean they are disregarding it, it can mean they appreciate it for its lightheartedness and humor even with the serious moments taken into consideration.

Heck, sometimes the silliness and serious can intertwine. I haven’t read tf2 comics, but I know there’s a scene where Medic threatens someone who I presume to be a serious antagonist with the fact they surgically implanted a baboon uterus in them.
