I disagree. Deepnest doesn't force you into deepnest - unless you explicitly want to enter deepnest.

its very easy for the average player to say "oh let me just check this place out, they say its dangerous but i wanna see it for myself then if i cant handle it, ill get out" yada yada, only that deepnest traps you inside of it

especially if you have issues making it out in the first place

then deepnest feels especially cruel and frustrating

that being said, Herrah is also a fairly common candidate for 3rd dreamer, and it's not hard to figure why.

the easiest way out from the drops would be going to herrah for the stag wouldn't it? but that'd make you go deeper, I can see why someone with no knowledge of the map and deepnest being a fucking maze would make you miserable trapped there

ive done way too many times in other games, im less inclined to do that with much more "hardcore games" i guess which does explicity teach you the lesson to always be 100% careful like making sure you have ample supplies and what not just at the very start (traditional roguelikes are the best example of this in my exp)

on the flipside, Deepenest managed to reach my expectations because usually, characters in other games hypes this place/enemy up only for them to be actual pushover in practice

yeah i didnt do Deepenest on my first playthrough immediately

like, if you look at the map with regards to deepnest entrance it feels like its something i wanna be prepared for

but some players dont really get those clues and just goes ahead because thats how it works in other video games
