i think sun/moon's redeeming quality is the innovation, it did some things differently that made it feel unique and fresh. instead of gym leaders, you had trials, and totem pokemon, which were alot of fun and a challenge. the storyline is good too
one of my favorite parts is how creative some designs are for the pokemon themselves. the ultra beasts are just awesome
