I was reading through TC's blog and found this

im not 100% sure ofc since i dont fucking know TC's MO, but if they do have other internal playtesters i do hope they have people who can provide them a different perspective

because i dont mean offense to graig dont get me wrong, because he definitely has a lot of good insights that TC added to the, but sometimes a second opinion is better because imo Graig is more or less a very very good player but some of his opinions on the game may lean already on the more competitive/difficulty (and this works in general too btw, not just difficulty)

Take Joseph Anderson during his HK critique, personally i think he has a lot of good insights like the early game but one of his suggest was unironically more or less "they should make the game more difficult" and fucking "Silksong should have a breakable floor that conveniently drops you into Hallownest"

the most common thing I disagree with Joe about is the fact that he doesn't realize how abnormally good he is at games

on an edge case, it reminds me of another multiplayer shooter that got REALLY playtested by like, 20-30 guys? compromised of really competitive players, and the dev REALLY followed their suggestions to the T, making it more competitive etc

then when the playtesters said "ok this is good, ship it" they shipped it out and noone of the regular joe could get into it and the game was pretty much dead on arrival

like what im trying to make a case here is, im not trashing graig at all, he has a lot of very good insights, its just that sometimes you need someone to counteract those insights because you never know if youll fall of the pitfall of them just giving you a thumbs up for every action you make, only to alienate players in the end
