I think we should say i love you less. The more you use a word the less it means
See "literally" which is now a filler word. "I love you" already starts to sink into the pit of meaningless thoughtless expression. And that thoughtlessness comes with a certain beauty to it, as all things do. But the impact, the power that phrase held has been diminished over time, and now even further so.

I prefer to say that i adore someone. It feels more personal, intimate, passionate. I believe that is what "i love you" used to mean as well. But as the passage of time is inexorable, so too are the shifting of the sands we dig our feet in.
