anyone know what modcommon is, I'm installing the mod hollowpoint and its not working, I looked at the github and it says I need modcommon which isn't apart of scarab. I've used randomiser mods and they work fine I'm not sure if its modcommon or something else I'm doing which is stopping it from working. hollowpoint is the only mod I have activated rn.

If you want to reset the game, go to steam, right click hollow knight, click properties, click local files, click verify integrity. After it checks, it will say files failed to validate and it will redownload them. This won’t affect your save files @glad mortar

I’m not too good with randomizer, but you could check in the Mods menu (title screen > options > Mods) or the settings when creating a new randomizer save file

Btw I have a problem that is probably not caused by mods, but I think it's still the best channel to ask about it : I'm playing the steam version of the game on mac, and I was trying some different video settings and then I clicked the "reset defaults" button. The thing is that the original resolution of the game that I was using (that was 3000 something x 2000 something) disappeared from the options, I can't go above 1920*1080 anymore. I tried to verify the files integrity and to reinstall the game but it didn't change anything. Is there a way to manually add the original resolution or something like that ?

Use randomizer 4 (randomizer settings randomizer is a mod that you can use with rando 4 that will create a randomized file but the settings of the randomization that you normally choose before creating the file will be random too)

It might not have been exactly this one, but I had something close to this before, and now the option just disappeared from the list

At this point I'm wondering if there's an option in steam to like, reinstall the game in a way that it acts as if it was the first installation, without any change to the settings... I have a backup of my savefile so it wouldn't be a problem

Simply reinstalling doesn't work, it keeps the settings and the saves even after disabling cloud save and deleting what was supposed to be the save files, I would need something that entirely resets the game as if I had never played it maybe (which verifying the files integrity doesn't do apparently)

But i don't know if an option like that even exists

If you want to delete data the game saves then go to your save files path. If you delete everything except the files with user# (where # is a number 1-4) then I assume it will act like that.

Aight, so, Theres two huds, Hud Clean and just base Hade. Using Customknight only replaces Hud Clean so the actual hud dosnt change. Anyone know if its safe to just replace Hud with Hud Clean, or is there something im missing?

Is the base Hud in a different folder than the Hud Anim, kind of like how some of the knights animations are in other folders?

Unfortunately that didn't work, I even tried to delete everything in the save files folder to see what would happen (after making a backup of course) and even though the save files were gone I still had the weird resolution settings. One interesting thing that I found, but that I didn't try to modify, is a file called "Config.ini" in the Game files, it seems to have some settings written inside regarding the fps cap for example, so I was wondering if it could be possible to modify it to have my old resolution setting back, even though I didn't find anything related to the resolution in the "VideoSettings" part

Hey, Trying to run Scarab for the Steam Linux version, installed some mods, but the game doesn't run more than that. It shows the little Knight for 2 seconds and the game either stops responding or just crashes right away. Should I install the windows version of the game and run it with proton(still using the scarab linux version)?

You're either missing a dependency, or one of your mods didn't install correctly.
If you check your ModLog file, it should show errors related to the Modding mod.

Steam Cloud just takes those files and attempts to back them up, then redownloads them on the other synchronized machines

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔸 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔸 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.

Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Second Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔸 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar then run Scarab and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

I don't know if there's a way to specify a maximum value per charm

custom knight creator is buggy and doesn't pack all the sprite sheets (like shade and any bosses)
If you're trying to pack those, you need to use spritepacker
