well, I wanted to open the game, and this is what greeted me... after installing CharmMod, haven't had that issue before

trying to restart the game in the meantime

have the dependencies installed, checked it

restart with same result, can't even close the game without forcing it from the taskbar

starting the game after disabling the mod makes it work normally

would appreciate a ping, if someone has any clue how to make it work 🙏

Looks like it has 2 bugs I can find so far: 1. It’s being loaded twice 2. It’s having an error where it’s missing code

The reason the menu gets stuck is because there’s some real bad error before the game starts

ok, so when i open hollow knight (with mods), the title screen has no buttons (see screenshot). Not sure how to fix it or what is causing it

i just tried randomizer for the first time, some weird glitches (in video) and dialogue/tollbooth and pause menu not showing up.

I think the random teleport got me stuck in some spikes in the forgotten crossroads and then it got stuck in the death animation. Also enemies are glitched

I'm not quite sure how this whole biz works, but perhaps you could take a look at how Transcendence works, because it's basically the same kind of mod

and it already smoothed out the issues, works with randomizer, even is treated as a connection mod to it

The dll of the Dreamshield mod seems to be Assembly-Csharp.dll and just putting it into a folder didn't work. The readme of the mod says to overwrite the Assembly-CSharp under the hollow_knight_Data/Managed folder. Doing that makes the game not launch.

Other than that, uninstall Transcendence, as that may be the cause

do you want to erase all traces of modding in your game entirely or just disable everything ?

in order to play the vanilla game again the simplest way is just to verify your games files

#

Go to steam > right click HK > properties > local files > verify game integrity

#

it will not affect your saves at all

#

and then if you ever want to mod again, just downloading the installer will make everything work again

#

no need to reinstall every separate mod

#

well you have to understand that adding extra sprites/textures for new area is, a lot of work

#

that said i do think that a handful of mods do add content, in the sense that they let you revisit in a different way the games base content

Hopefully quick question: in GodSeekerPlus, the lifeblood option is on, and it did gave me lifeblood in the first boss fight in HoG. However such lifeblood is not granted in later boss fights (same boss, same difficulty). I tried to toggle the option in menu. It didn't add lifeblood. Any assumpiong/workflow that I'm missing?

GodSeekerPlus now gives me a different problem: after each fight, the "Challenge" menu from the same boss is missing. Reentering HoG to find it again.

My partner and I were trying a few nights ago to run the same randomizer seed and playing together with the multiplayer mod and we couldn't get the same hash to appear despite using the same seed, checking we had the same settings, and copying the same settings code. That shouldn't matter. Tag shouldn't make any permanent affect to a save. It's all temporary.

Some mods add variations of bosses in godhome without replacing them, but idk which are ported. There’s also Cagney Carnation, Propeller knight, and Fennel bosses that are added in godhome by the indie crossover mod (might have been split up into mods named for each boss)

That's the QoL save thing. So as long as you didn't edit that one, it shouldn't actually affect anything.

But if there was a user3.modded.json, that would potentially affect things if you left it there.
