steam download, up to date, unsure how to troubleshoot

i am missing two charms i had equipped on a finished true ending file.
i messed with the debugging mod and suddenly they were gone. when i went to equip charms to see what the grimm reskins were for the neko custom skin i couldn't equip them or unequip them. its as if they are gone. in finishing THK it gave me ending B as well instead of putting me into the Radiance Fight which makes me believe when i was messing with the charm upgrades the game "forgot" i had done the kingsoul stuff.

im not sure even where to begin checking on this issue and dont see a pin or anything in the search bar leading me to answer on this. help would be appreciated

i removed a few mods like VanillaMapMod and saw i added RandomCompanion and i think it hit a conflict somewhere bc now i can debug both of the charms back into my inventory. also. in the few days ive had scarab like 4/5 mods had updates so smthn in that fixed the issue i was having

Hey, I've been trying to get mods. I've installed them and they've been put in the correct place (steamapps/common/Hollow Knight/hollow_knight_Data/Managed/Mods), but when I open the game, it has no mods visually on it. It's already on 1.4.3.2, and I don't know what's happening. Any tips?

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔸 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔸 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.

Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Second Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔸 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar then run Scarab and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

if you meean the skin you just need to download custom knight mod find the mod in your files from hollow knight data /managed/mods then enter it there will be a skins folder you have to put the grimm knight skin on there

Ok, so my game likes to crash for no reason, and there seems to not be a specific cause. I also can't seem to figure out how to access the crash report.

i completely fucked my game over, went into multi to play with a friend that was bit behind from me, wanted to kill a boss together, i couldnt see it so i pressed the respawn boss button bcs im an idiot, nothing was happening, i die to see if it fixes it, tried to use noclip to get there faster, and now im in this hell stuck forever, closest thing ive seen to bugkind is city of tears and i cannot even see my avatar. its my only savefile with everything done besides nk grimm and path of pain. First, multiplayer doesn't support enemy sync yet. Second, it seems like you've just no clipped out into the void, literally just quit to menu and reload the save and you should be back at the bench

hey so i was here last night asked about modding for gamepass was pointed to the scarab guide i followed the guide and choose what i presume to be the right path since if you choose the wrong one it tells you the paths invalid so i went into my xboxgames folder then to hollowknight then selected the content folder this then counted it as a path however when i try to install a mod from scarab (ive tried about 5 different mods i think now) it then pops up an error window and tells me about how An exception occured while installing or uninstalling (insert mod name)

The current installer is Scarab (and there are some others in dev, but are not considered release-ready yet).

If a mod shows up on an installer for the latest patch, such as Scarab, then it should work.

I've been having an issue with the randomizer tracker (the one that overlays on the in game map), specifically the Transition mode, where after entering Black Egg Temple, I can no longer use the tracker to find routes to rooms. second, what are you trying to do ? Unless you absolutly want to play lightbringer you shouldn't use moddinstaller 2 but in fact scarab, and you need to change patches according to which installer you want to use

A. I wouldn't use CKC. Rather, you should probably use SpritePacker.
CKC has a few bugs, some of which can basically make it unusable entirely, and the dev has never responded the times I've tried to contact them about it.

B. Assuming you want to continue using it anyway: It looks like the error that you're having it from giving it a file path that either:

doesn't actually contain the sprites, or
it doesn't have permission to read from

Method 1
Get Scarab from https://github.com/fifty-six/Scarab/releases/tag/v1.11.0.0
First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
Click the three points then click "Manage".
Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before
Method 2
Click on your profile then "Settings"
Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
Copy the path bar then run Scarab and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.
Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside
