If you would prefer to stay on 1.4.3.2 Install modinstaller 1/2. If you are on 1.2.2.1 and wish to install mods follow this video tutorial by Ax2u linked at the bottom of the guide. Any other patches are not supported by mods. To check your patch open the game and look in the bottom left corner of title screen

If you are on Gamepass follow this guide #archived-modding-help message

🔹 1.) Download scarab from the GitHub page linked below.
-If you are on Windows download only Windows.zip
-If you are on Linux download only Linux.zip
-If you are on MacOS download only MacOS.zip
🔺Don’t download the source code as there is no reason to do so.

📝Scarab will work with only the three OSs listed above, Additionally note there is no need to download any other file then the OS specific one

🔹2.) After Downloading the .zip file extract/unzip it
By hitting the button on top of your file explorer that says “Extract All”
& then move the extracted folder to your desktop
By dragging it into the folder on your device named desktop which is most likely pinned on the left of your files
to avoid potential issues.
🔺Make sure you keep all the files that originally came in the zipped folder together while moving the extracted folder to desktop otherwise scarab will not work

2.5.) scarab may be pinged by antivirus to get around this click

🔹3.)Once extracted to desktop run Scarab(.exe) found in the extracted folder.

🔹If scarab is asking you to select a path your path will end in selecting the hollow knight folder see below what the path will look like assuming you are using steam and have the folder in its default location
(For gog ask in #archived-modding-help if you need help finding the hollow knight folder);

•If you want to uninstall the mod click the same box again.

🔹5.)Once this is done all you have to do is load the game and mods will now appear. If not see the pins for further instructions.

📝Additionally note that if scarab installs a mod when you try to install another mod do not uninstall the mod because the mod you installed will depend on it to run properly

hello! im having some trouble with mods. I have w11 and play through Steam, on current patch. I installed the mods through Scarab.

• When using debug mod: If I enable debug mod api and exiting menu, benchwarp api remains on screen and i cant pause again or do anything, it just freezes.
• CustomKinght just doesn't work. It doesn't appear in the mods menu and I cannot change to any skin (it used to work).

I tried uninstalling HK from Steam and then reinstalling it. It seems like Scarab reinstalls the mods automatically. I tried uninstalling them through Scarab as well, but the same issues remain.

I was using the debug menu
