I got the randomizer4 mod working today without much trouble and I just wanted to say thank you to folks developing/supporting these; I've really really enjoyed playing around with it so far!

the HKMP website has 2 servers already there, how does it work?

it says there's one with pvp enabled and the other is "co-op" where its disabled

I downgraded my version to 1.4.3.2, download mod installer 1 and downloaded the mods I want but when I launch the game none of them show up. I followed the steps for when they don't show up (the comment I replied to) but they still don't show up. Any idea how to fix this?

Are you sure that you confirmed the correct installation path when the installer asked you?

If those steps didn't work, then most likely your mods aren't installing to your game

I'm pretty sure I chose the right path, the .dll files are in the Mods folder.

Yeah, that folder is a mess. Your installers should not be in it at all

So at this point, you may want to wipe that folder, and redownload your mods

You're possibly missing one of the dependencies. To start though, close the game, then open Scarab, then uninstall Item Changer and then Reinstall Item Changer. Make sure you wait for the loading bar at the bottom of Scarab to finish before closing it again.

When it's done, try launching the game again

This is a wild idea, but maybe follow the instruction that the error message gave: check modlog.txt

ModLog

To easily get ModLog on Windows:

• Press ⊞ + R
• Copy and paste this into it %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight and hit "OK"
• ModLog.txt is in this folder.

the information you need is in the guide in pins. if you're still having issues, you're probably not following it properly. without providing additional information about what you've specifically done, we can't really help you

plus the public servers are fine to use anyways. hkmp just shows your position to others

your worlds are all your own

A. Gamepass is more like renting games. Not really having them.
B. Apparently as of like, last week, Gamepass games became modable, but they aren't really well supported/documented (as in, Idk what directories you'd need to point the installer to). Additionally, the Gamepass version is still 1432, so you'd need to use the old Mod Installer.

If the Knight is just trying to go left, then that's most likely a controller issue. I've never heard of the knight just moving on their own (except for like, broken pause movement, but that happens from the player moving and pausing)

Hi. A few days ago my current patch Hollow Knight on Steam kept on getting unitycrashhandler crashes randomly during gameplay. Downgrading to 1.4.3.2 seemed to fix the issue for a while, but now, randomly, the game freezes and this text box appears:
"Hollow knight has encountered and must close.
A crash report named ""crash_2022-02-01-220806"" has been generated. These files can be sent to team cherry for analysis Would you like to open this folder now?"
The game subsequently closes. I have the Modding API installed, along with QoL, CustomKnight, and various dependency mods. I tried Verifying the Integrity of my Steam Files, but after clicking the button, the progress bar doesn't seem to advance at all...

Oops wait now the verifying process is working. I closed and relaunched Steam.

so i was having an issue with custom knight, when i backed out of the mod menu for it after turning off gameplay and events it froze my game minus the cursor so i alt + f4 out of the game, went to scarab uninstalled and reinstalled it, re-downloaded and installed my skin i was using and when i go to the mods section in settings custom knight isn't there at all, it is installed and enabled in scarab and the mods folder

another mod i have installed works fine (the compass everywhere one)

i also no longer get the loading bar in the middle of my screen when booting up HK

The game "freezing" is a bug with ModdingAPI, that will be finally fixed in the next release of it.
Until it's fixed, make sure that you always press the "Back" menu button to leave mod menus, instead of pressing "B" on controller or "ESC" on keyboard.

@atomic mist Unless there's a specific reason you want to be on 1.4, then you shouldn't be. Pretty much everything has been moved on to current patch (1.5).

Update: It works after switching it to 1.4, and opening the game from desktop after what seemed like updating the installer because the mod api was “out of date”

For Scarab, you download the .zip for your OS.
Then Extract the contents into a new folder (by default it will be windows.zip on Windows, but you can rename that folder to Scarab or w/e).
Then, move that folder to wherever you want, as long as it's out of your Downloads folder (it's commonly recommended to move it to your Desktop).
Then run Scarab.exe that's inside the folder.

2) The skin was applied at the main menu instead of in a game save (skins can only be applied while in a save)
3) Your skin folder is structured with extra folders (Structure should be:  Managed/Mods/Customknight/Skins/[Skin folder name]/[Skin PNG files])
4) If you used Custom Knight in 1432 and upgraded to Scarab, or you're experiencing the mods menu missing, or you cannot pick up geo, then you'll need to delete  customknight.globalsettings.json

then close and re-open scarab. and uninstall/reinstall debugmod

and then where you're getting the modlogs from, delete any debug globalsettings files
