I'm having the dumb moment where my game files just say "loading". and came to the conclusion that it's caused by my mods. So I disabled everything, still didn't work. uninstalled the mod loader, still didn't work. so I thought maybe it's an issue with hk itself and uninstalled, reinstalled. It worked! then reinstallling the mod launcher caused it to stop working again. Even with nothing enabled.
I've been deleting the mods folder every time too, because if ther's anything residual it still doesn;t work.

I'm so confused. Also whenever I reinstall the game it prompts me to select a language, I select english, are you sure, yes, etc.
But then the first text before the title screen is in german?? what's the deal with that-

*Oh!! yeah I tried this and it didn't work. I figured out that running "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed" is the only way I can get it to even come up, the other one says it's an error. and from there I only had the mods folder, whic is.. not there as of rn..

I tried uninstalling to see if it would do anything to fix it and it hasn't. I tried following the bloodorca method and the Hollow Point fix method on the help pin and my save is still glitched. I'm not familiar with that issue, but a good way to figure out is to uninstall all your mods and check if it's still broken then. And afterwards install mods one at a time till it breaks, it's kinda slow but it's faster than waiting for a correct response here. Also if you do this let me know which one is causing it, if any

This is actually a vanilla bug, that just happens more often on lower-end computers / with mods / on older patches.

If you're playing 1432, then consider upgrading to Rando 4 on 1578 (current patch).
If you're already on current patch, then restart your game, and make sure that you have visual settings turned down (like particles turned off / low)

Not sure who said that-
Hollow Point is known to conflict with things that affect the knight visually.

It sometimes works, if you select a skin

  • in your save file, and
  • in your main menu
    and then restart the game.
    This essentially tricks HP into thinking that the preloaded skin is the "default" knight skin, which gets around what it does.

That being said, it doesn't always work for people.
Additionally, if it's your first time using that skin, then you probably want to try it out on it's own first, because most people install that skin incorrectly (assuming you got it from the Gdrives in pins)

Can someone please explain the randomapmod logic, if I have opened waterways the map does not show it in logic so I choose to ignore it for the time being eventually comes down to Markoth being my last possible check in logic according to the map so he should've had vertical movement as I didn't have any but he gives me my 4th simple key and suddenly waterways is in logic

So like, none of the items that Jiji has when playing Egg Shop would be considered in-logic unless you have found 4 keys as well, based on your settings

A kinda similar thing is Boss Logic:
Most bosses aren't considered logical by default unless you have spells and movement, however you can still fight them any time, and potentially get items early. So like, Sly might have spells that you need to purchase to put Brooding Mawlek into logic, but you could easily get Mawlek before even rescuing Sly.
